A Morning Bouquet from the Mock Sweet Orange

One unusually early morning, our little bear woke up with the dawn chorus, much earlier than any parent might wish. With the soft glow of the sun illuminating his little adventure, he went outside, snapping off a flowering branch from the Mock Sweet Orange bush.

It's a large bush that teems with delightful sweetness - the Mock Sweet Orange, or the False Jasmine as some call it.

Navigating to the kitchen, he opened the vitrine, carefully choosing a crystal faceted glass that appealed to his young eye. He poured in water, turning it into a makeshift vase. It was then carefully carried to his room and positioned on the windowsill. This delicate, white bouquet standing amongst an armory of Nerf guns on the wall - quite a contrast indeed. It was a simple, yet profound gesture of a growing child echoing the sensitivities of his parents.

Later that day, his inspiration trickled down to us, prompting us to mirror his morning adventure. We ventured out to our Mock Sweet Orange bush, its blossoms dancing in the midday sun, and cut off another branch. In the heart of our kitchen, on the family dinner table, we filled a vase with these white blossoming sticks.

The Mock Sweet Orange, deceivingly similar to Jasmine in both appearance and fragrance, has a sweeter, less potent scent. It's an enchanting aroma that fills the room, a gentle reminder of our little bear's morning expedition, and the unexpected lessons we learn from these small yet profound gestures.
