Setting sails with the Swan Boat at Bramslev Bakker hills

It's not every day you get to sail on a converted paddle steamer, especially one as enchanting as Svanen. But on a glorious late-summer day in September, the weather gods gifted us with a rare 30-degree burst of sunshine, right before autumn showed its rainy and windy face.

Our journey took us along Mariager Fjord, a river system connecting the town of Hobro to the Kattegat sea. Bramslev Bakker, the hills adjacent to the fjord, was one of our destinations, but the trip had another exciting element: we were also checking out Jim Lyngvild's new glamping tents, Viping. As we reached the fjord, the children were taken aback by the majestic sight of Svanen. To them, it was like a boat straight out of a fairytale, ready to whisk us away on an unforgettable adventure. Their eyes widened as we boarded, and their excitement was palpable.

Once aboard, we were treated to refreshing drinks and an awe-inspiring view of the fjord's natural beauty. The ship sailed smoothly toward Hobro, where we disembarked to explore the town's charming harbor. But the fjord had more magic to show us; we boarded Svanen again and sailed back, enjoying every moment of this extraordinary trip. Sailing with Svanen is one of those experiences that stays with you long after the journey ends. As we stepped off the boat and headed back home, we were left with a sense of awe and wonder—our souls touched by the beauty of nature and the simplicity of a boat ride on a beautiful day.

And as we look forward to cozying up in autumn, we're ever so grateful for these golden moments that make the impending chilly days seem a bit warmer.
