Recap: From Sunlit Nights to Autumn Lights. A Seasonal Shift from Summer.

As the sun begins to rest earlier each day, we bid farewell to the long Scandinavian light nights, cherishing the memories we've made under their glow. The air is now graced with the first whispers of autumn, the wind carrying hints of change. It's a poignant reminder of the rhythm of life, echoing in our hearts as we prepare for the next chapter. As we stand on the cusp of seasons, it's a time for reminiscing.

The dazzling display of summer's flora, from the vibrant red poppies to the elegant roses, is nearing its curtain call. The fiery spectacle of poppies and the romantic allure of roses, which have been the stars of our summer landscape, will soon perform their final enchanting dance. The drama of their vivid colors will gracefully step aside for the subdued, earthy tones of fall. As we reminisce on the unfading beauty and irresistible charm of our summer blooms, we remember them with deep fondness.

The rhythm of life goes on, but we hold on to the memory of each season, savouring the tastes and scents it brought. From our wild raspberry jam that captured the essence of summer, to the fragrant raspberry cordial made two ways - each has a special place in our hearts and palates.

Our kitchen saw the birth of delightful creations, like the blueberry muffins we baked, each one a unique, flavorful joy. Then there was the excitement of transforming wild raspberries and blueberries into jams and cordials, products of our ventures into the art of efficient berry picking.

Our taste buds still tingle with the memory of vanilla ice cream topped with homemade strawberry preserve. The sweet tartness of Morello cherries added an unexpected depth to our nightcaps. And, of course, we cannot forget the raw strawberry soda pop, a vibrant and zesty addition to our summer.

Curious nature explorations led us to the discovery of Witch Eggs, the young stage of the stinkhorn fungus - a peculiar yet fascinating find. And who could forget our foraging adventure through the Nordic forests, stained fingers and lips a testament to the wild blueberry bounty we gathered?

The impromptu cornflower picking session that stemmed from a routine bicycle trip, the joyful sharing of homegrown cherries, the magical spectacle of the bramble ballet, and the enchanting narrative spun by the still waters of a lake - each memory is a treasured keepsake from our summer exploits.

A visit to the 'City of Roses,' Mariager, was like stepping into a kaleidoscope of colors, a vibrant display of Mother Nature's artistry that left us in awe. At home, we introduced a piece of the outdoors into our sanctuary, using hazel sticks as curtain rods to add a touch of rustic enchantment.

In those rainy day adventures of wildflower missions, and the blooming joy of foraging and drying pineapple chamomile, we found solace. Our sanctuary of mints, homegrown peppermint tea, and the soothing brew of wild pineapple chamomile - these were our sources of comfort.

Yet, as we move forward, we remember to look back. As the light nights of summer dim and the crisp air of autumn creeps in, we find ourselves reflecting on the adventures of the past season, eager for the coming change. Yes, the sun goes down, and the light nights draw to a close, but with it comes the anticipation of a new season. The flickering candle of summer extinguishes itself, making way for the warm, steady glow of autumn. Here's to the enchanting, warm nights of autumn and the delightful mysteries they promise to unravel!
